an effort by young leaders in the United States Army to force the Academy to bow to the Woke Cult and make the Anti-Racism the central feature of the Academy’s curriculum. This policy statement was apparently drafted by a group of recent Academy graduates (classes of 2018 and 2019). These graduates all came from the top tier of the ranks of the Academy’s cadet leaders. Two recent valedictorians and First Captains signed this manifesto. (Other past First Captains include Douglas MacArthur, John J. Pershing, and William C. Westmoreland.) The other cadets all held high-ranking positions within the Corps of Cadets. They are the cream of the crop of the Army’s future leaders, the guys and gals that will become generals one day and will be expected to lead America’s sons and daughters in combat.
Their actions are akin to those of the Red Guards in Maoist China. They are agitating to tear the Academy apart from the ground up and reorient its mission around Anti-Racism. The fact that our country’s future leaders believe in this nonsense is a sign that our military is in trouble, and cannot be relied upon either to defend our country or to safeguard the interests of all Americans in the performance of their duties.

I exited the Navy just a few weeks ago. I can say definitively that from my small corner of it, the ONLY thing that keeps it going is its technology. Having met and talked to the people (after hearing every single leader give a speech saying, “our greatest strength is our people”) I have no doubt that were a real war to breakout, the current regime of feckless leaders would fold like cheap suits. They are only interested in acting as lapdogs for the Flags, who in turn are only interested in acting as lapdogs for jackass leftists appointed as heads of the military departments. They care more for implementing the degenerate insanity that the Obama prog types demanded the military adopt, than actually having their Sailors ready to fight.

There won’t be any foreign invasion. No foreign country is stupid enough to want to invade and occupy this place. That kind of stupidity is a specialty unique to the American Imperium.
No, the biggest threat will be from among our own. I constantly hope and pray that SOMEBODY (many “somebodies,” actually) who has access to the weapons troves allocated to our Imperial Legions will have the decency and respect for liberty to free them from the Deep State’s control and turn them over to the People.

I don’t see why, given nuclear weapons as defense, the military can’t be abolished otherwise. Set up a nuclear defense corps, and be done with having a military. Have state militias / national guards that can be called up to defend if an army invades, etc., and let that be it.
If reaction comes, let’s go back to the ancient way of not maintaining standing national armies, but calling them up if/when needed.

Seeing as the USA no longer manufactures plutonium-238, lithium-6, or tritium, and hasn’t tested a nuke since 1992, it’s entirely possible that they no longer work. Too many old white male engineers have retired and been replaced with affirmative-action hires.
I think that when the USA achieves full socialism, also known as a cannibal holocaust, the world will leave it to rot like Venezuela. Right now there just aren’t any ascendant empires with high birth rates looking for land to conquer. Grow your own food and take a “shoot, shovel, shut up” approach to diversity.

Immediately defunding “defense” and “intelligence” would save hundreds of billions of dollars annually, and also cut off a lot of Professional-Managerial Class grifters. There is practically NO area of Federal spending that benefits a traditional Republican constituency, except maybe now Social Security.

If, before this year, we had cut the defense and intelligence budgets to $150bln, we could have paid down $700bln in debt every year. At some point, cutting off the doom that’s coming with interest in the national debt; there’s really nothing to do about SS/Medicare.
We have now crossed the Rubicon where interest on the national debt exceeds bond issuance, or we will shortly. That means that the rest of the budget shrinks compared to it. The battle is SS vs. Defense. I had long thought that defense would get cut to save SS, but now I think not.
The people receiving SS reflect the demographics of America 66 years ago: 90% white. They’re not as strongly organized as the people grifting 850bln for so-called Defense; those people own lobbyists and senators, and now probably the Dems (Trump, who went to military school, doesn’t understand this isn’t the military of Eisenhower or Kennedy). My guess is that SS/Medicare cuts are crammed down on the mostly-white elderly to save the military-industrial complex for a few more years, while the inexorable rise of interest eventually squeezes them out.
Of course, if we DON’T spend on the military, the dollar will collapse as people stop sending us stuff in return for nothing. the MIC has no choice and it’s going to fight its hardest and targeting older whites (who can reliably be counted on to utter “racist” opinions once said y Presidents like Kennedy in their youth) will be their tactic.
