A ‘Gay’ Hamburger? Burger King Selling ‘The Proud Whopper’ to Celebrate Sin

SAN FRANCISCO Burger King has come out of the closet in full support of the homosexual lifestyle, and is now even naming a hamburger to prove just how ‘proud’ it is of the sin.

The fast food chain is launching what it is calling “The Proud Whopper,” which is enclosed in a rainbow-colored wrapper with the inscription: “We are all the same inside.”

The burger in its colorful packaging will be sold through July 3 at one Burger King restaurant located in San Francisco, a city known for its celebration and promotion of homosexuality and where sexually-transmitted diseases well exceed the national average.

Last weekend, the fast food chain was a proud sponsor of the 44th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade, which also passed by its downtown restaurant where workers sold “Proud Whoppers” and handed out some 50,000 rainbow Burger King crowns that were worn by parade participants and spectators.

Fernando Machado’s senior vice president of global brand management at Burger King, who led the effort, said that it was first time that Burger King sponsored a “gay pride” event in the U.S., though it may have done so overseas.

Machado stated that highlighting this special burger as a part of the event “showcases who we are as a brand”.

“It shows how we, as a brand, believe in self-expression,” he stated.

[…]

According to Machado, all “Proud Whopper” sandwich sales will be donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation to provide scholarships to openly homosexual high school seniors that will be graduating in 2015.

Machado says that there are no immediate plans to broaden the promotion, but hinted that the fast food chain “may consider something even bigger later on.”

Burger King is not the first major corporation to come out in support of homosexuality.

Chipotle, whose owner is openly homosexual, has sponsored floats in homosexual pride events nationwide. Additionally, Starbucks, whose CEO told a shareholder who objected to the company’s promotion of homosexuality last year that he could sell his shares, recently marked the 40th anniversary of Seattle Pride by flying an enormous 800 square foot rainbow flag over its headquarters in Seattle.

Burger King gay Whopper: Because we’re all cheap processed meat on the inside?

Burger King is now selling a ‘Proud Whopper’ in San Francisco as part of LGBT Pride Month, a burger in rainbow wrapping bearing the oddly juxtaposing tagline ‘We’re all the same on the inside’.

Part noble gesture (proceeds from the sandwich will help fund scholarships for LGBT high school graduates), part calculated targeting of the pink dollar (the buying power of gay consumers was estimated to be $743 billion in 2010), the Proud Whopper will be sold for a limited time in the city.

Its slogan attempts to convey the message that we’re all human beings of equal worth regardless of gender and sexuality, but draws odd comparisons with the burger itself.

It seems to suggest we’re all the same inside just like one of the brand’s Whoppers, i.e. identical due to mass production and made from meat that would probably make you shudder if you saw it pre-flame grilling.

People Are Furious Over Burger King’s Gay Pride Whopper

In support of gay pride month, a San Francisco Burger King has begun selling Whoppers wrapped in rainbow-colored paper inscribed with the words, “We are all the same inside.”

The marketing campaign, which is limited to just one restaurant, has set off a firestorm of backlash among customers, with hundreds of people vowing to boycott the fast food chain.

“You can take that pride BS and shove it BK, me and my family are going somewhere else!” Dennis Chacon Neira wrote on the company’s Facebook page Tuesday. “and i will convince my friends NOT to eat at your restaurants, hope you go belly up!”

“I LOVE a Whopper, but I’ll never eat there again,” another Facebook user wrote.

“I’m done supporting Burger king,” added a third.

A vast majority of the 350+ Facebook comments regarding the burger, which will only be available for a matter of days, are negative.

People have also been sounding off on Twitter.

The fast food chain is also being accused by some of pandering to the LGBT community.

Local blog SFist.com gave this title to a post on the campaign: “Burger King Panders To Gay Fast Food Fans With ‘Proud Whopper’ Stunt.”

Businessweek’s Venessa Wong pointed out in a related article that the buying power of gay consumers was estimated to be $743 billion in 2010.

Others weighed in on Twitter.

The fast food chain is donating proceeds from the $4.29 “Proud Whopper” to college scholarships for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender high school seniors who are graduating in 2015.

Time for a buycott of other places…

Ewwww. I don’t eat Paleo but I’ll say this, reading about it and dabbling in the diet really made me see just how entrenched junk food culture is in North America. It’s getting bad elsewhere, too.

It’s not just the food though. Everything is “message.” I eat this food because it proclaims I am an open-minded citizen of the world!

I’ve wanted off this rock for decades. That sentiment does not improve when I am forced to confront popular culture.

And yet I notice the gays aren’t happy with any corporation-y corporations doing any supposed good-think things. Will they never be pleased? <——–don't bother answering, a recent encounter with my gay in-law answered that question.

If you compare this response to the response of Chick-fil-A supporters, you can see how stacked the issue is against the gays.

@ Cranberry: When you eat fast food, you eat America! 🙂

Yeah, as usual, the homos are unhappy and unsatisfied either way…

“Show me a happy homosexual, and I’ll show you a gay corpse.”

@ ar10308: Not sure I follow your meaning; could you elaborate?

As a Christian, I’m delighted to see the opposition to Burger King’s move – and to ordinary folks in response to progs’ calling for a Chick-fil-A boycott…

It was a dumb move. They’ll turn off a whole lot more customers than they’d ever get among gays or gay sympathizers.
I’m wondering whose idea this was. It’s so obviously stupid. Another young or “young” thirty or fortysomething clueless SWPL orthodox progressive, you’d think. Could it be anyone else? Is it conceivable that a large corporate marketing department would have hired anyone else, maybe with a different viewpoint, in 2014? Diversity, anyone? Still clueless after all these years.
They said gays have a lot of “buying power”. What kind of buying power do traditional Americans have? What sort of control do traditional Americans have over, say, the nonfrivolous aspects of the economy? (Considering this, what on Earth do we have to be afraid of?)
I’ll still eat whoppers from time to time because I like them and BK is not the worst of the bunch. I won’t eat at chipotle. Partly because they’re supporting my enemies but mostly because it’s overpriced dog food. The same goes for Starbucks. However more palatable, it’s just average coffee at a premium price.

I hope you’re right, that it will alienate Main Street USA, but I wonder if they gambled on enough people not caring that they’ll keep eating there. You yourself said you’ll still eat there, even though this campaign pisses you off. I imagine they’re banking on that kind of response from us traditionalists – and thinking that even if some homos scoff about them pandering to them, that enough others will like it, ditto straight progs, that they’ll profit from the publicity…

Yes, Middle America does still have enormous clout, when they choose to wield it – look at the show of support of Chick-fil-A spearheaded by Mike Huckabee two years ago…

The problem is, Middle America is generally in a hypnotic daze / stupor, distracted by food, booze, reality TV, sports, and porn… That said, Burger King is an institution, and hopefully they won’t take this lying down…

I realize gluttony is a term that applies to food, but really, it is gluttony of the soul that we see. Gluttony of the senses.

These are typical modern day, undereducated ignorant liars, (Burger King’s management), with zero responsibility. Everyone is totally different inside and out, genetically, and epigenetically, and infection wise, at minimums. Genetics produces stunning differences, that leave some dumb and dumber, some brilliant, and all variably different in resistance to environment and diseases, among many other crucial factors, far from the least IQ. That difference is everything, in spite of the simple mindeds lack of knowledge. And most are simple minded, often to their detriment as they get sucked into others stupidities, or deviousness, throughout life and variably throughout nations.

Neither rocket scientists, nor brain surgeons, spread evenly around a nation or the world like peanut butter, nor any other uncommon or desirable traits. Think of the reality in front of your faces, and you begin to see truth against marketing and other power, of fraud!

    Will:
I saw this mentioned in the news last week but thought it was a hoax. Just goes to show you can never underestimate the depths of Libtard depravity.

I think though there’s more to this story. Even the liberal Huffington Post ran an article showing that the percentage of homos among the actual population is much smaller than believed. Numerically, they have about as much of presence as American Indians.

Although it should be starting to become very apparent that those numbers are heavily concentrated in government, media, and Wall Street.

This is what I meant on the other thread about the ‘Gay Pride Movement’ taking on an increasingly revolutionist aspect. They don’t seem to be the slightest bit concerned about profit loss or anything else; like the Starbucks’ CEO telling his own shareholders to kiss off and Mozilla’s treatment of Brendan Eich.

Now consider this: the militant fags are behaving as though the fear no backlash—what would cause them to think this? What I’m beginning to fear is that their government/media/corporate/academic concentration is worse than we thought: IOW, they are so entrenched and have their hands on so many levers of power that they fear no consequences for their actions.

I hope I’m wrong about that, because if I’m not we may be headed for a hetero ‘Krystalnacht’ sooner than we think.

I don’t know. Given how small a percentage of the total population they are, I doubt they could be that disproportionately over-represented among the elites in the way that some other groups are; for instance, those of The Tribe.

    Will:
How many elites can you name who are openly gay vs. the number of American Indians you can name among them?

    July 5, 2014 at 11:48 pm

There are very few Amerindians; as for openly gay, a bit more than that, but I imagine there are more who are not so open. I know some closeted gays; not all gays are ‘out’, some prefer to live quiet lives, out of the spotlight…

BTW, by ‘The Tribe’, I didn’t mean native American; I meant Jewish. It’s a humourous term for them. 🙂

Boy, if my fellow Christians could get as worked up about no fault divorce as they do about gay marriage they might actually restore the institution.

I’ll still eat at Burger King, Whoppers are delicious after all.

I certainly agree that it’s too bad too many Christians don’t see the evil of no fault divorce, and too many Christian women frivorce because they get financial rewards for doing so, but all that said, Christians are right to oppose gay marriage.

I don’t believe in boycotts; I prefer buycotts. But further, I do believe it’s an individual decision to act as one feels led. Christians will make different, varying decisions, and that’s fine, IMO.

I may not give up Whoppers, either – I like them, and I haven’t heard that Burger King Canada has gotten political in this way; I should investigate perhaps and see if they’ve sponsored big-city pride parades too like their American counterpart.

But I’m taking note of what is happening, and I will decide accordingly.

What? You expect modern Christians to get worked up.over no fault divorce? Don’t you heretics understand divorce is ok becuase God wants everyone to be happy? Well e everyone but homo’s of course.

There is nothing humorous about the tribe.
