One question that Fred Reed often asks in his essays where he addresses race in America is “do Black Anericans really even want schools at all?”
They can have any kind of schools they want. The White PTB have shoveled obscene amounts of money into their schools, bending over backwards to “equalize” things, and yet they show no signs of having any desire to make constructive use of this educational largesse.
At the level of the individual student, do most young Blacks demonstrate a willingness to learn? The evidence before our eyes and ears suggests that the answer is no.
As Fred says, if Black Americans don’t even want schools, why is White America forcing them down Black America’s throats?

That certainly appears to be the case. If so, then what is needed are “day prisons” in which these children who are not interested in education can be put to work doing constructive things that keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Their “parents” will like that solution even less than they like the idea of schools, but this system will cost orders of magnitude less than schools, and will yield more measurable and positive results.

I also think it would be hysterically funny if they segregated white and Negro schools, and spent half as much on the white schools, and the white schools still outperformed them in every metric.

Let parents determine the education for their own children. If certain demographics need lifelong daycare, let them arrange for it. If others want their children to learn, well we know how to do that too.
