In this country, that would have done him in completely.
He has managed to be both immigration-restrictionist (however moderately) and anti-lockdowns, and has gained much support from the latter.
He’s on the right track.

Bernier is not Conservative, Inc.
He left Conservative, Inc., and has gone out on a limb, as far as a civic nationalist libertarian like him can go, and has garnered much support for his courage.
Of course, one could start a purist reactionary immigration-zero party and get 0.00001% support in Canada, rather than 0.3%; would that be better?
For an ideological purity wankfest, sure. Impress a few people online, and get less than nowhere in the real world.
At least Max is getting somewhere; he’s bleeding away Tory support.
That is at least a good thing; widening the Overton Window is also good.

There is no difference between 0.00001% and 0.3%. Even if it were 3% it wouldn’t matter, nor 30%, because voting will not solve this.
Wanting to limit immigration to 200,000 is not a start. It’s capitulation.

Has Nick Fuentes been elected to political office?
Has he started a political party which has achieved electoral success?
It’s great to have people promote dissident right views in cyberspace; not knocking the guy.
But Max Bernier has accomplished more for widening the Overton Window in Canada than Nick Fuentes has in the States, by actually running for office, and having served in the public sphere, including cabinet.
Nick Fuentes inspires dissident right folks, but hasn’t reached many outside.
By contrast, Max Bernier has.

(Not that Max Bernier and the PPC have yet achieved any electoral success; far from it.
But Bernier himself has a profile from having been a government cabinet minister and long-term MP in the past, has gained much support during the pandemic for his anti-lockdown stance, and has brought thousands of Canadians onboard the PPC; Fuentes has done nothing like that.)

Far as I’m concerned, the PPC needn’t win any seats; if they can deny Tory seats, and throw them to the progs, thus killing the fake right, all to the good.
I think the PPC can play spoiler.

Nick Fuentes is an internet commentator, not much different than me except far more popular.
Isn’t accomplishing much practical; at least a politician running for office is trying.
Sure, if Canada had more dissident right thinkers and bloggers and activists, that would be great.
But in order to potentially effect change you have to run for office.

This is a wake up call for the praire provinces.They either separate within 10 years max. or they will never be able vote their way out.This isn’t about cheap labour, it’s a weapon to change society. The pop. of Sask. is about 1.1 million.,Manitoba about 1.3 million.Carpet bombing them with 3rd world migrants and “refugees” will be easy.The US. already has a working model they can copy from.Calgary already has a muslim mayor.
