I think progressive could be used to describe policies like being pro-bike lane, pro-regulation, etc — policies that are debatable (I like bike lanes, not so much a fan of regulations), whereas ‘woke’ is obsessed with identity politics and destroying what’s left of western civilization and its frighteningly slim hold on reality.
