New York Magazine promoting ‘consensual incest’, apparently already legal in New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Quebec

17 Jan

Sure, they may appear to just be presenting an account of ‘consensual’ incest, but to publish a long interview with a pro-incest advocate as they’ve done, while maintaining an ostensibly neutral, non-judgmental tone, frankly ends up, in essence, giving a platform for advocacy of that view.

(And the progs ridiculed us when we said ‘gay marriage’ was a slippery slope…)

The interview mentions something I didn’t know: that ‘consensual incest’ for those over 18 is legal in New Jersey. Don’t know why, but apparently it is so, as well as in Rhode Island, according to the Wikipedia entry. (Update: Apparently it is not legal in NJ, but there are no criminal penalties. So it’s decriminalized, then.)

And apparently, up here, ‘consensual incest’ is legal in Quebec.

No doubt, eventually progs will start pushing for ‘consensual incest marriage’…

I sincerely hope this is fake like some people are thinking, because even if their kids turn out genetically okay they have extremely difficult lives. Their parents’ choice will follow them for their entire lives, starting with bullying, to having difficulty finding a spouse, to their own children being more likely to have issues. And that’s without taking into account that the woman doesn’t seem like she’s terribly mature or mentally sound.

Indeed; I hope it is fake, too. Alas, sadly, it’s all too believable that there are some unbalanced folks out there who wilfully engage in this kind of behaviour.

Oh, this is just too coincidental. Over at the Orthosphere, recurring atheist commenter ‘a.morphous’ was arguing that social institutions will not expreince any kind of rapid breakdown in the wake of sodom-marriage. Whoops… may have spoke too soon.

We already have more folks arguing for legalization of polygamy, now this…

Eventually, there will be calls for legalization of ‘consensual animal-human marriage’…

      It’s only a matter of time…

Adult incest is NOT legal in NJ. It is prohibited under their state law. However, there are no criminal penalties. They cannot legally get married in NJ, but they won’t go to jail, either.

    Ah, so it’s merely decriminalized.

That story isn’t passing the smell test for me. I think it’s a seed planting exercise.

Some Christian minister predicted that western nations will come under the tyranny of Islam. Perhaps this is the punishment of the west for this kind of behavior.

Hey, the Israelites had the Babylonian Captivity, etc. It’s possible.

        @Will S.

In those cases the Israelites survived as a distinct people. Perhaps the same could be said of White European peoples?

    Maybe.

But don’t forget: the Faith is booming in Third World nations. It is quite possible that, while the Church will certainly survive, it might not be a Western church, any more…

I love the way self-styled progressives pooh-pooh the whole notion of a “slippery slope,” even as they pour gallons of lubricant onto the incline.

Someone — it may have been you — posted a link recently to an article that some progressive had written just a few years ago, lambasting Christians (whom she obviously detested) for using scare tactics to fire up opposition to same-sex marriage (which at that time did not have anything close to majority support). The “scare tactic” she was decrying: Telling people that if same-sex marriage were to become legal, then Christian business owners could be punished for refusing to violate their consciences — e.g., by declining to bake a wedding cake for Bill and Bob, or declining to photograph Thelma and Louise’s wedding, etc. That will never happen, the progressive writer confidently asserted. I wonder if she was being deliberately deceptive, or just hopelessly naïve.

I can’t tell either, if it’s lying or naïveté; with progs, it could be either…

Back in 1994, a conservative editorialist wrote an essay, from the perspective of a prog in the future, entitled something like “And then, in 1994, we began to question our prejudice against pedophilia.”

Now, see the link in my update to my post.

It’s coming; the slippery slope is real, and yeah, well-greased…

Doesn’t matter if the case is real or not, the fact that it is being pushed from a sympathetic angle is enough to tell you all you need to know. Very very sick people running this country.

Exactly; same with the pedophilia story Free Northerner highlighted.
