What? Since when has the Conferacy ever been seen in a different light than it is now? It’s always been demonized. What changed was that the negative perception wasn’t enough for some people, so they want to erase its existence from the history. Why?
Some would say it’s due to the grave evil of slavery. But why wouldn’t you want to remember it ( you know, like the Holocaust)?
I suspect the real reason is so that people don’t gain a full picture of the complexity of the thing. Yes, it was pretty complex.
I suppose it makes me self-hating to acknowledge the fact that the currently free state of Florida better not forget that she actually checked into a roach motel 🤣
