Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association marched in yesterday’s gay pride parade in Toronto

30 Jun

I don’t have any links to news stories about it, but I know they did (I saw a photograph on a photo-sharing website of a teacher with a rainbow pinwheel on a sign proclaiming he was ‘proud to be a Catholic teacher’), and there are plenty of news stories about their plans to so, from earlier.

That’s taxpayer-funded Catholic education in Ontario, folks.

The OECTA’s decision to march in the World Pride Parade is an ‘internal union matter’; and the feelings of dissenting Catholic teachers, clergy and parents and other faithful Catholics didn’t count for anything with the union leadership.

May I quote myself?

So, Ontario Catholic schools can’t refuse students bringing same-sex ‘partners’ to their proms; they’re not allowed to teach that abortion is wrong any more; they’re not only allowing students to be excused from religious courses, but have bent over backwards in some jurisdictions to accommodate others; but now they can’t even require those attending their schools to attend religious services.

In what way, shape or form are Ontario’s publicly-funded Catholic schools still truly Catholic?

[…]

Ontario’s Catholics may do well to wonder whether taking Caesar’s money was worth it, ultimately.

Government funding never comes without strings attached…

“Whose bread I eat, his song I sing.”, as the old saying goes.

And now, this…

Catholic parents in Ontario, if they don’t want their children to potentially be infected with ‘gay rights’ ideology, must withdraw their children from tax-funded ‘Catholic’ education.

“Ontario Catholic schools can’t refuse bringing same-sex partners to their proms.”

    LOL—but I’ll bet they’d spring into action if a 15 y/o girl brought her 25 y/o boyfriend!

“they are not allowed to teach that abortion is wrong anymore…”

If they’re all becoming fags, eventually the abortion industry will go out of business anyway since no one is reproducing…

“bent over backwards in some jurisdiction to accommodate others…”

    Was that pun intentional? LOL

    Now on a serious note:

Why doesn’t the Vatican—itself an independent country—prohibit Catholic schools from accepting tax dollars, at least in retarded liberal police-states like Canada? They should theoretically be able to fund their own schools, and register themselves as ‘foreign corporations’ then they wouldn’t have to put up with this PC crap.

    Of course!

“If they’re all becoming fags, eventually the abortion industry will go out of business anyway since no one is reproducing…”

Every funnel cloud has a silver lining, I guess…

Ha! No; I’m glad you caught it, LOL! 🙂

A damned good question; not being Catholic, I have no idea why, if not the Vatican State as a state, at least the Holy See as an institution, doesn’t take action.

But these are the days of Pope Francis, who appears to want to seem non-judgmental, and make the media like him, despite not changing actual official church policies in any ‘progressive’ direction in any meaningful way; it’s all rhetoric and public relations, it seems.

Lutheran Satire says he’s a hippie, and leaving others to do constant damage control after he spouts off in media interviews:

It’s hard to argue with their interpretation, isn’t it…

Guess that’s what you get for choosing a Liberation-Theology-influenced, Latin American pope; Francis is the Obama of the Papacy…

Funny how Benedict XVI got pushed out, eh? Hmmm…

LOL—‘Pope Frank’. A lot of Catholics refer to him as ‘Pope Fannie’.

Every time he comes out with a ‘strong statement’ from the Church on some issue, it sounds about as intimidating as Obama’s threats to Putin. Maybe we need a Russian pope…
