Will, it becomes clear now what the scam here was. In 2008, when they tried for the first time to pass the bailout, the American people rose up as one to say NO. One Congressman said he had two responses from constituents: no, and HELL NO. They had to cram that 700Bln down after crashing AIG, I think.
They need another bailout, and they needed to get past the opposition in Congress. How to do so? Make sure the American people DEMAND a bailout by unemploying them and wrecking the economy. Then the money spent on the citizens will obscure the dollars spent on bailing out the financial elite.
It’s evil, but brilliant.
