I recall one celebration on a Friday night at my Catholic High School during lent. The person supplying the food had failed to notice that hot dogs might not be appropriate. Suddenly a Priest came out and explained that the Bishop had given a special dispensation for us to consume meat on Friday. So it happens.

Of course, all the students at my high school thought “why bother? There’s no meat in those things anyway.”

But what’s the Boston Archdiocese trying to do here? I think the Rorate Caeli folks are correct that alternatives to meat are especially easier to find and keep in these times…

True; they have vegan hot dogs, shows you how unnatural them things are, that vegans can simulate them and fool themselves. 😉
