When you bring in foreign scab labor yeah, people make life-threatening mistakes sometimes. Just close your eyes and think of the bodegas https://t.co/27hUPIRwoR

In America, you're just supposed to accept POC retail workers nearly killing your kid due to incompetence. Confronting them makes you a very bad person. https://t.co/e1To5CqM8O

We have come to a tipping point in labor relations. I just saw this today. New Hospital B is paying more. Employees of Hospital A are hired to work there. Hospital A gets a restraining order to prevent them from working there.
Hospital A wants them to be serfs, bonded to the land or business.

If communism, Maoist style, enjoys a resurgence in the near future, nobody better be surprised why…

There is no labor shortage, not for higher paying jobs. I saw a video with a guy from Staten Island who applied to FIFTY jobs and got ONE interview, for grunt work, not master of the universe.
As he put it, employers are just upset that they have lost their slaves. They’re not really looking for labor.

That’s because nobody is really even trying to put out quality goods or services to satisfy paying customers in a competitive market anymore. Businesses either 1) are getting subsidies (a.k.a. corporate welfare), 2) have established de facto monopolies, 3) are on the edge of bankruptcy from which they’ll never recover and thus don’t really care anymore (i.e., just counting down the days till the inevitable door-shutting), 4) are making just enough to stay in business while avoiding rape by the tax man to not want to strive for quality and thus more profits, or 5) are just plain woke.

That is the problem with employers who pay bottom dollar. They have no idea how people can live on it, would not accept it themselves, but expect a steady stream of applicants.

They really hate it when the employee exercises their at-will rights.
I know because I’ve done it.

There is an update. See below. Steve Lehto had a feeling that the order would stand for the weekend. He was right.

News! The judge’s order only held for the weekend. The people who wanted to move from Hospital A to Hospital B now have a green light from the judge.
I think that Hospital B has some idea of how to use the people more productively. That is something else that is beyond the control of employees. It can be very frustrating.
