Swatting over a Twitter handle…

22 Jul
The real outrage is that it’s possible to do this, i.e. sicc the cops on someone under false pretenses.

Welcome to the USSA, the “freest nation on earth.” /sarc

Of course this “swatting” thing is intentional, meant to send a message to the Deplorables that the State can take them out at any time, and for any reason.

Yeah, punks do that stuff as it is funny to them. It isnt the first time someone has done that stuff.

Ranks up there with having the entire forum buy pizzas for someone, except bullets kill you faster.

It has been going on for years and it reveals a weakness in the system that empowers Karen.

It would be extremely difficult to make this sort of thing impossible, unfortunately.. Emergency calls, by their very nature, do not leave the police with time to thoroughly vet the call for a possible prank before responding. Penalties for this, especially if it results in a death, should be very severe as a deterrent.

      Alas, good points.

Yes; if an innocent man dies, the prank swatter should be executed or locked up for life.

That ought to be an effective deterrent…

The police have to take responsibility for their actions. A lot of Karen calls are made to them. They should be adept at separating the real from phony.
