For his part, it is all conjecture. To add my two cents, I don’t think that it mattered because venues where the sexes met were closed for Covid. I don’t think a lot of people started relationships during Covid.
It’s just a guess, but do does anyone have any stats to refute it?

Good points, fuzzy; suspect you’re correct.

        You’re most welcome!

Indeed, with people ‘locked down’ at home, and as you point out, places where people commonly meet and connect such as churches and bars closed, and with many masked and/or afraid of other humans, I too suspect precious few new relationships began. I know of only one in my church, a boyfriend and girlfriend in their late teens (her) and late twenties (him); I was surprised at that.

Anything universal is a path to the lowest common denominator.

I went there and read bits of it. Are feminists sane?

I guess that I already knew that and I needed confirmation.

As for regular American women, here is a glimpse into their thoughts about fathers.

        It makes me sad.

        It makes me angry,

I hope they all get sterilized, via tubal ligation, and can never conceive.

That might be appropriate but we do put a high value on the female because they are the reproductive bottleneck, but they have leveraged this past all reason.

Females like those don’t deserve to be mothers, ever.

The problem is that they can. They are physically able if not otherwise prepared and they have the full support of government. Then, government will hound whoever they designate as the bio-dad to suicide.

I know, which is why I hope and pray they opt out of ability, through voluntary sterilization. 😉

My husband switched companies in the middle of the pandemic. So until 3 weeks ago he hadn’t been seen by anyone in his building without a mask, per company mandate.

At least twice he had female co-workers verbalize to him how they hadn’t imagined how handsome he was. He found that bothersome because even though they had never seen his face, they had seen his wedding band. Boundaries are gone, it seems.

I suppose masks have added a layer of mystery between people who have only ever interacted in masked environments. Now that is going away.

My new employer still mandates masks in the office, which no one has regularly inhabited for the last 15 months. On those rare days (+/- one day per month) when my team does meet in the office, the practice is to check in with the security guard at the front desk while fully masked, get your temperature scanned (right after you’ve entered the building from 100-plus-degree Arizona summer heat), go to your desk, and then remove your mask and breathe and act like a normal, sane human being. “Health and Safety Theater” at its finest and most absurd. I’m informed that this will be mandatory routine until after Labor Day, apparently the date on which all remaining threats of COVID infection will vanish into the dustbin of medical history.

Thank God my teleworking arrangement is permanent.

We’ve been mask rebels throughout of the “pandemic”. But when it came to requirements at work….

And my husband’s company only allowed limited telecommuting. I think they were concerned about a decrease in productivity. Zoom meetings were just not getting it done, follks were slacking off.. So they were back in the office iby early September 2020 because they could do that in FL.

Most companies here waited until spring of this year though. And masks were mandatory of course. They do cause pimples and a lot of good skin care is required if you wear one regularly.

The wedding band was what attracted them, Elspeth. It’s called ‘pre-selection’, and it’s as old as the hills.

My grandfather used to cut jokes about people so ugly they should wear a paper bag over their heads. Now, it’s paper masks, not bags, and this research article proves it’s not a joke!

The masks don’t just hide pimples, they cause them. So I guess they are the wrath of the pimple scarred against the clear faced. “You will be forced to have pimples too! Hahahaha!”
