No surprise: Rick Warren ordains women

17 May

Gunner has the scoop. (Hat tip: weka.)

Gunner notes that Rick Warren’s Saddleback church is nominally Southern Baptist; will any prominent Southern Baptist pastors come forward to denounce this loudly and publicly? I pray so. We shall see…

It starts with female ordination, and will end with BeeEllEm and Alphabet People lifestyle endorsement…

Previously.

Also.

    “Rick Warren’s Saddleback church”

More like Brokeback Mountain church. The cross in the background is even pink.

OT: Kristi Noem totally blew it on the trans thing as the NCAA backs down:

Sadly, the thirst is all too real!

It’s high time men stopped voting for women for governors.

        Oh, completely agree, feeriker!

Just focusing on governors at the moment. 🙂

God allows this to honeypot all the fake Christians out there.

In the cartoon, I understood everything but “Pro-Gaping”. Dare I ask what this refers to or am I better off not knowing?

I don’t know either but I will go with option two.

Whenever it comes to that group, always better not knowing…

News from Calgary. The third pastor arrested was taken illegally and it looks as if the Alberta government may have to justify themselves. This is significant.

    I have a general rule:

When any particular pastor is embraced by the mainstream culture at large, no matter how well I have previously regarded him, my opinion is irrevocably changed.

Beware “pastors” such as Warren, Osteen, Jakes, etc. I don’t know that they are shepherds of flocks as much as cultural inspiration gurus who happen to hold the title of pastors.

      Agree completely!

      Exactly.

      Elspeth,
It does look like you are joining this program in progress. These pastors were arrested for doing what, we as Americans, would consider perfectly normal, holding church services. What is going on in Alberta right now is something that I have never heard about a modern government doing, and that includes Nazi Germany.

Fuzzy, I think Elspeth was commenting on my original post, rather than your tangential comment.😉

My bad, I should have scrolled back. The pastor in the OP is very much different from the ones I linked to.

Not super familiar with Protestant practices. I assume in the picture that’s laying on of hands? Does it confer any particular authority or charisma or is it symbolic?
