A lot of people are still scared to death, despite all the solidly positive numbers over the past several months. I’m telling you, it’s too much CNN/MSNBC in their diets.

Our 13-year-old was glared at today -death stare- by a middle aged woman in the store. The woman then immediately threw down her merchandise, and hustled away from the aisle they were both on (I was one aisle over). We assumed it was because she wasn’t wearing a mask.

She didn’t say anything to my kid, and thank God for it, because I would not have wanted to be in a position to straighten out some Karen (yeah, I know it’s a slur) in a department store.

But our kid is pretty sensitive and expressed that she doesn’t want to be hated. I told her she has to make a decision about how she wants to live. Wear the mask to blend in (we always keep them with us just in case), or live freely within our guidance, accepting that some stranger, whom she does not know and will likely never see again, might see her as a pariah trying to kill her.

Luckily, more and more people see us, smile, and actually take off their own masks rather than reacting as this strange woman did. But every now and again, you run across that person who is still scared witless, yet doesn’t see the contradiction between those feelings and wandering around in a clothing store.

I know a young woman who works in a water park, and had the misfortune of being verbally assaulted by a (male) guest who was upset because no one was wearing masks. At a water park!

Stay your butts at home if you’re oh so scared.

I wish they would all stay at home, never come out, and see how long they live with not enough exercise, Vitamin D, etc. With all their cats, and toxoplasmosis. 😉

That’s been my generic message to everyone for the last year.

“If you’re terrified of COVID, stay the f**k home and let the rest of us not controlled by omniphobia live normal lives!”

Masks are made of paper. How this genius expects them to be effective in a water park is beyond me. I am sad for your friend and for your 13 year old. While the stereotype is blonde with short hair, like Kate Gosselin, Karen can any race or gender and they are very unpleasant.

There is one more thing. In addition to every location that I have mentioned, add Tampa to the list of counties and municipalities that is ignoring Ron DeSantis’ order. Karens are getting their licks in because of the confusion.

David Menzies, in this editorial, gives an excellent overview of this whole Covid mess that kids in school should study for generations to come.

Rarely do I find something that well done in the midst of a crisis. Usually is has to be in the rear view mirror. Your welcome. I just hope that Rebel News can keep going.

In other words, 35% of epidemiologists need to stop stealing our air.
