    I think Chesterton’s suspicions have occurred to many of us, especially of late.

    And he was writing this stuff a century ago.

    Shame that the prophets have always been ignored, including the ones sent directly by God. Ours from the early to mid twentieth century saw the writing on the wall and were sure to warn those who had ears to hear (Chesterton, Lewis, Orwell, etc.).

    Yet here we are.

      But the good news is, we can still learn from them now. 🙂

    Someone else said that the march to tyranny is left, right, left.

    Two of my neighbors started flying this flag today (NSFW warning). I may eventually have to fly one myself:

    “Conservative leaders”. Why they seem so jellyfish in the church is for the same reason.

      Yep.

      As Churchianity is to Christianity, neo-conservatism is to paleo-conservatism.

        (Though best to flee the conservative appelation altogether, and just call oneself patriot or rightist or reactionary.)

        @Will S.

        They will label themselves patriot and rightist too. And they will somehow worm their way into power and play the role of fake opposition.

        So the problem is how to weed them out first.

        But they won’t call themselves reactionary, which is why that’s the best term. 🙂

        Anyway, as with the Faith, “By their fruits you shall know them”, surely so too with politics.

        Easy to do so. So your latter comment is more applicable. Indeed by their fruits you shall know them.

        Watch what they do. Not what they say.
