That’s safe to do in the UK. They had SUCH a high case rate they’ve probably achieved herd immunity.

True, but the only way to quickly build herd immunity is for the non-immuno-compromised to catch it, then build up resistance to it.

The only way around it is through it, surely.

For most, it’s just a bad flu! 🙂

That has to be the bravest retailer in existence. Not only did he step in the middle of a controversy, but he took a contrarian position. I hope that he comes out of this all right. Who knows what the mob will do to him?

This is in Scotland, where in Britain as EA points out above, they’re already on the other side of this.

However, Scotland didn’t have as many cases as England, and their First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, has mused about keeping English out. Yeah.

So… Maybe the owner is brave; maybe the Scots, despite being overgoverned, still have a healthy enough skepticism about what they are told that they are bravely resisting, a la Braveheart. 😉

He is brave. He didn’t have to take a position either way and could have avoided offending anyone. I don’t usually endorse merchants taking a political position, but I have to admire this guy.

True, my inclination is to encourage store-owners to try to not alienate anyone, in order to maximize their potential customer base, but yes, I do admire such courage, too.

The owner is also correct, in that masked people DO threaten the safety of staff: do not many if not most thieves don masks when they hold up a business?
