Sex robots with ‘coding errors’ prone to ‘violence and could strangle humans’

29 Aug

Yeah. This from a guy testing them for developers.

Sex robots plagued with coding errors could be prone to violent behaviours including strangling, an expert has warned.

Doll collector Brick Dollbanger fears violent repercussions if robotics are not regulated properly.

He believes a simple “coding error” could turn AI girlfriends against their owners if they are equipped with free will.

Brick, who has closed ties with manufacturers Realbotix and Abyss, told Daily Star Online: “It scares me to death, it’s a machine and it’s always going to be a machine.

[…]

“If you make one mistake and you have a line of bad code in there and it hits this line of bad code, depending on what it’s doing or where it’s at or numerous other instances, it could just decide this is what it’s supposed to do.

“I’s been programmed, and more than likely it’s going to be answering to a cloud server of some kind to get updated to have any kind of work done on AI itself, it will have to link to the server.

“And it wouldn’t stop until those things occurred. Put it this way it can put its arm around your neck and just stop you from breathing, and you wouldn’t be able to get away from it, something as simple as that, a simple hug could be a constriction that could literally compress your chest and airway and stop you breathing.

Imagine someone who hates incels / men who use sexbots, maliciously programming murderous code…

Or hacking into one and reprogramming thus…

Well, those of us who won’t use them will have nothing to fear…

1960:In the future we’ll have flying cars in live on mars.
2019: In the future we’ll eat maggots and get strangled to death by our sexbots.

There WILL be a movement to ensure that all sexbot coding is open source. Indeed, I’m sure that most of the customer base will insist on it.

I’m not technically inclined in such matters; what are the practical implications of such open source coding?

Open Source means that the source code is available to anyone who wants to look at it. This enables any interested party to analyze it for backdoors, bugs, malicious code, and vulnerabilities. Anyone familiar with and proficient in the particular code could also even makes changes and updates to it (there might, however, be certain licenses and usage terms [e.g., GNU Public License] that specify the conditions under which this can be done.

Very simply, open source code let’s you “look under the hood” in a way that you can’t do with compiled proprietary code (e.g., anything Micro$$$$oft).

Ah, okay. Thanks for the explanation.

Does that still mean that someone could exploit this and make malicious changes?

Bingo. Such a simple, easy to implement solution in order to not be mangled or murdered by bad code. It just might work!

      Indeed, I can’t see how it wouldn’t. 🙂

A real woman nags but she gets tired and sleeps.

But a robot nagging, never…ever…stops. Oooh boy. I can imagine neckbeard types noticably grow old very fast as the vampiress sucks out his soul.

I tried to share this on fakebook, and it told me it was against community standards. The Zucker-Borg supports killer sex robots.

Does that still mean that someone could exploit this and make malicious changes?

Theoretically, yes, but being open source code, someone else would very likely discover it almost immediately and come up with a fix/patch to correct/remove such code, which they would immediately share with the rest of the user community (and, given the prevalence of the stereotype, it’s pretty certain that a HUGE percentage of the sexbot “user community” would consist of “code monkeys”).

This is one of the reasons why the Linux and Mac OSX operating systems have fewer and less catastrophic security issues than Bill Gates’ kludgy, bloated monstrosity; there are armies of such “code monkeys” constantly combing over the source code looking for bugs and bad code, and when they find something and come up with a fix, the immediately share it with the user community. Contrast this with Gatesware, a proprietary OS where sometimes months pass before vulnerabilities and malware are discovered, and even more months before patches or bug fixes are issued.
