Entomophagy is common in the tropics but it’s a losing proposition in the temperate latitudes. We’d emit massive amounts of CO2 either flash-freezing and shipping them north, or keeping them warm enough to survive and breed here.

It takes several cubic feet of heated indoor space just to breed enough bugs to feed an iguana; you’re not going to feed people that way.

I dunno; don’t flies breed at garbage dumps? 😉

Where I live, you could leave garbage outside for five months, November through March, and not see one fly or maggot on it.

In that hideous strength one if the characters goes through psychological deprogramming to gain admission to the inner circle of the NICE. This deprogramming coincidentally includes the same acts of initiation into occult societies including the eating of abominable foods.

How much further are we going to let them push us? How much more are we going to take? When will we say “enough is enough”?

I am not going to eat insects. I will not do it. My family will not do it. It’s gross. It’s subhuman. It’s disgusting. Only savages, the impoverished, and the uncivilized eat insects. My ancestors fought their way across a continent, lived as subsistence farmers, and worked shit jobs so that, well, my family could process, purchase, and eat meat, poultry, fish, fruits, veggies, and legumes.

My paternal grandfather worked for a railroad his entire life. Back when working for a railroad usually meant you’d either wear your body out or get killed by falling off a bridge or a moving train, or get crushed by a boxcar. He was a brakeman, and then a conductor. Working for a railroad meant that every day you were risking your life and it might be the last time you see your kids.

He ate meat. He loved Salisbury steak.

My maternal grandfather worked for the phone company, climbing up and down wired poles. In all kinds of weather. Risking life and limb, injuries by falling or electrocution, heat stroke, hypothermia, frostbite, and influenza. He worked in the shittiest conditions you can imagine, just so people could call each other and so their wives could gossip about the latest cheater.

He ate meat. He loved hamburgers.

I am not going to dishonor men who worked themselves into early graves, and who bought and ate and liked meat, and who worked shitty jobs so that they could raise my parents so they could go to college and meet each other and have me and send me to college so that I could work in an air conditioned office where the hardest thing I do each day is carry files from one place to another…..

So that I can eat insects like people who live in grass huts and shit into holes in the ground.

I’m not going to do it.

    Rant off.

      Hear, hear, deti!

They can take my meat when they pry it from my cold dead hands! 😉

Soviet propaganda constantly extolled the virtues of the New Socialist Man, a glorious creature who selflessly serves his fellow citizens, giving his all for the collective glory of the mighty Soviet State.

Bear Grylls is the real New Socialist Man because he practices the skills needed to survive in a fully socialist country, also known as a cannibal holocaust. Keep moving, erect temporary shelters, eat anything that might sustain you, make useful tools from pieces of trash, and so on.

You need to think about how you’ll supplement your meager government rations with grubs, rodents, Obama voters, wild fruit, vegetables grown in secret gardens, etc. We don’t really know what will happen because in Venezuela everyone with an IQ over 90 got out of the country before things got really bad.

Democracy always leads to socialism and total economic collapse, so what I describe is certain to happen unless Trump becomes President for Life and is succeeded by his sons.

Maybe – then we’ll be bugmen LoL.

Animal protein is complete both containing all the EAAs as well as more appropriate proportions of the EAAs for growing/repairing your body. It is also more digestible – plant based protein is maybe ~70%, the best animal proteins are ~95% digestible. Animals also contain the long chain essential fatty acids. So I assume bugs would still retain an advantage over pulses and grains.

It’s possible it’s a cruelty to animal thing too – less people would be offended by killing crickets and maggots than cows and pigs.

They can’t simulate the taste of blood from a juicy steak or burger dripping into my mouth so I’ll keep eating meat.

      Ha! 🙂 Bugmen, indeed…

Oh, I suppose it would be better than legumes and soy, but like you, I’d rather do neither (I like legumes sometimes, but not only, always…)

This is just psychological torture. The residual effects of too many progressives getting their way for decades without any kind of effective pushback. Some giggling psychopaths in a back room telling us their plans for us and not bothering to hide it in any way.

Let the maggots feast on them instead.

In many cases they certainly will have that as their fate, surrounded by starved dead cats. 😉
