Don’t live where it floods; don’t expect others to bail you out; pay for it your own darn self

13 May

Hey you!

Yeah, I’m looking at you. You, who own nice expensive waterfront property beside a river that is known to flood at least periodically, even if only once a century, but usually more than that; where there is a risk every spring.

Don’t live there!

Or if you do, and it floods, don’t expect that you ought to be financially bailed out by myself and the rest of taxpayers. Why should we pay for your bad judgement?

No; you should have to pay insurance up the yin-yang, since you know your area floods. You do; it happens. It’s been recorded from in the past; it will happen again. Nobody should have to pay for that except you, for your stupidity and show-off-ness (now a word, since I just invented it).

Governments, stop bailing out these idiots. They don’t deserve our tax dollars…

“Don’t live where there are wildfires; don’t expect others to bail you out; pay for it your own darn self

    “Hey you, ASSHOLE!

“Yeah, I’m looking at you. You, who own nice expensive hillside property beside a forest that is known to burn at least periodically, even if only once a century, but usually EVERY fucking summer, without fail.

    “Don’t live there!”

I hope you don’t mind, but I just borrowed and customized your message for the California tuckfards with more money than their low IQs merit who build houses in wildfire country, get burned out LITERALLY every fucking year, then rebuild, only to get burned out again. And again. AND AGAIN. Rinse, repeat. And OF COURSE they get compensated on our dime, whether through insurance or some tax-subsidized scam (otherwise, even their pea-sized cerebra would broadcast neural messages telling them that it wouldn’t pay to do this stupid shit again).

My biggest pet peeve is that the State evacuates these people from the wildfire zones rather than letting Darwin’s Law take its course.

Sorry for the profanity-laced tirade, but this a topic that REALLY makes my blood boil.

At least design your house with floods in mind. Jesus, if they can do it in africa, they can do it here.

Look up Dauphin Island on Google maps, then find out how much tax payers pay for their houses to rebuilt
