Photos of Couples In Love

16 Jul

The media is female-dominated (including advertising and stock photo companies), and everything today is marketed towards young women.

I notice, when I thumb through those free zines put out by the big newspaper publishing companies in big cities, that none of the goods, services, entertainment etc. are marketed towards men or to both sexes. Everything is marketed just towards young women. As if men don’t consume or purchase anything.

Did you notice a pattern in professional photos that show a man and woman in love? See if you know what I’m talking about in this example:

That’s a fine couple, may they make many huWhyte Babiez together. I believe the woman in that photo is Vivii Suominen, European pageant runner-up from Finland.

Question: What could have made that photo more true to romantic love?

Answer: Natural sexual polarity.

Explanation: She could have been directed by the photographer to look up adoringly at her man while he — calm and cocksure — looks at us through the camera’s eye.

Reverse-polarity is the norm in contemporary depictions of sexual intimacy. It’s an observation I made a while ago and to test it, I web-searched variations on relevant key words “couples photo,” “man woman love,” “woman adores man,” and similar. What did I find?

  • The woman triumphantly eye-fucking the camera (isn’t she supposed…

Advertisers feed the female’s appetite to be doted over and worshiped.

Garnering outsider’s attention is more important to moder women than the attention they get from their mate.

      No doubt…

It’s too bad they can’t see that they’re missing out on half of potential customers. But then maybe they deserve to die by alienating men thus.

I think they figure most men won’t be troubled enough to withhold business especially when their wives/gf’s demand it 😉 They have captive customers.

Yup. To be honest, most businesses today put out products and services of such shoddy quality that they’re not worth anybody’s money. Over the last hundred years we’ve gone from a culture of “the customer is always right” to one of “FUCK YOU!” Given that, maybe it’s a wonderfully just thing after all that women are the ones pissing their (mostly unearned) money away on such garbage and the scumbags who make and sell it. Serves them right.

    From the linked blog post:

As goes the eternal truth, the next generation can set things right.

Alas, the more likely outcome is that both of those little lives will, at some point in their maturing process, be irremediably fucked up by a combination of their narcissistic, neglectful parents and the cesspool culture in which they will have grown up.

Bonus question for my fellow cynics: anyone want to wager on the odds that both of these little ones are the product of an intact, two-parent family in which the parents are married?

But I did not find one single professional photo that showed a man looking at the camera, with her adoringly gazing up at him.

Difficult to believe that anyone living in the same society as the rest of us is naive enough to think that today’s women “adore” anyone but themselves. I’m really just surprised that most of these shots don’t have the women holding or standing in front of mirrors.

Do we live in a loveless time, or is it just the art directors?

Love of OTHERS is not a feature of the current culture. Contemporary art, among other aspects of the culture, merely reflects life.

Don’t buy anything ever. Gotta love those two bridal chains going out of business eh? All those poor womynns who can’t get their money back after spending 100’s of dollars for their male – exploitation gowns .

    Work hard.

    Work smart

    Don’t buy anything ever

    Don’t get married ever
