Tory leadership candidate invokes the ‘red pill’ metaphor; a few folks go apeshit; others laugh it off

08 Mar

Conservative leadership candidate Maxime Bernier defended himself against accusations of misogyny late Monday night after posting a sci-fi-themed meme on Twitter which asks,”Will you choose the red pill?”

The “red pill” meme — a reference to a scene in the film The Matrix in which the protagonist learns he’s living in a simulation — has been exploited by alt-right sites and so-called ‘men’s rights’ activists, many of whom express noxious views about women online. The documentary The Red Pill follows a filmmaker’s experiences discovering the “polarizing Men’s Rights Movement.”

Thanks for the attention, toots! (BTW, seeing as it’s #InternationalWomensDay, while you’re up, mind fixing me a sandwich? Attagirl! 😉 )

As you can see, Mad Max hasn’t deleted his tweet yet, despite criticism from other Tory leadership candidates, and a Liberal strategist. Respect!

Nice to see some other folks amused at progs getting bent out of shape over this, too.

We control the Narrative now, prog and neo-cuck bitches! 🙂

If the ‘Conservatives’ really wanted to win a majority, attract attention and advance Canada they should run on 3 simple basic promises and mean it:

    1. We will end White Genocide in Canada (and end government multiculturalism.) PERIOD.

    2. We will stop stealing your money. (YOu earn it, you keep it, you choose, government will shrink)

Plan 20% over 5 years. WE DO IT. Savings back to the taxpayer.

    3. We will promote economic prosperity by reducing regulations, taxation rules, and allowing investment.

We will GET OUT OF THE WAY of those who are productive and creating prosperity.

    YOUR MONEY, YOUR Wallet.

      No doubt…

If only they could combine Kellie Leitch’s platform with Kevin O’Leary’s bombast, but have someone at once more popular, more ‘controversial’, and more widely liked than either…

Gerry T. Neal suggested the perfect Tory leadership candidate: Don Cherry! 🙂

Appoint Grapes as GG, followed by the Great One. And, once he retires, Subban as ambassador to the US. GSP as intergovernmental minister on the Green ticket with Laraque. Ok I’ll stop now.

I want Gord Downie for GG, myself. I like the idea of a crazy singer-songwriter as our G.G.
