Shooting fish in a barrel, Sweden edition

06 Dec

Every 16-year-old in Sweden to receive copy of We Should All Be Feminists

Now, you might think: Every? Can’t they home school? Well, no.

Since Swedish education law was revised in 2010 to only allow homeschooling under “extraordinary circumstances,” Swedish authorities have consistently denied any parents approval for homeschool programs. Conveniently for the state, legislators have not indicated exactly what circumstances must be present in order for officials to grant parents and guardians permission to teach their children from home.

Personally, I’d emigrate if I had children. I do not see any other escape from the hive mind.

    Wow. I can’t be grateful enough for the powerlifting Home School Legal Defense Association.

    @LeeLee

    I wonder if there are any American willing to extend the franchise to Sweden and training them.

    I’d hate to be a Swede, in that position…

    In Sweden’s case I would have to imagine that “extraordinary circumstances” refers to parents capable of critical and independent thought, as well as having a moral compass. Far from being qualifiers for homeschooling, those are attributes will probably get you arrested and result in your children being taken away from you.

    Makes perfect sense. Everyone knows that state loves children more than their own parents do.

    Will, I’m sure you’ve seen Vox’s latest piece that centers on this travesty from Norway:

    http://medicalkidnap.com/2015/12/05/christian-family-loses-5-children-to-cps-for-radicalizing-and-indoctrinating-children-with-christianity/

    Ok, so can we just fucking nuke Scandinavia now? (Or, barring that extreme, move all the Third World refuse that’s flooding Western Europe northward while continuing to encourage more of them? I can’t now think of another part of Europe more deserving of being overrun by violent, raping barbarians.)

    Oh, and another thing: where is all the North American evanjellyfish outrage over this? Or is Scandinavia a “Preferred Apostate Region” exempt from scrutiny or criticism (i.e., “too white”)?

    Hey feeriker, I hadn’t heard that. Most dismaying, since I thought Norway was the most sensible of the Scandinavian countries, and I didn’t think they went that far.

    Evanjellyfish like to make a big deal about the oppressed church in China, Muslim nations, etc., but ignore episodes like this in fellow western countries like the Scandinavian ones.

    @Will S.

    Given Scandinavia is like the White nationalist Nordic Ideal. They will be sent into a tizzyfit to find that as a result of those rapes by Africans and Middle Easterners.

    That the pure white genepool is now polluted by inbred rapist low IQ mudblood peoples.

    I’m not sure Christians in the U.S. are deliberately ignoring what goes on in Scandinavian countries; the vast majority aren’t aware of it because they’re getting their news from the lamestream media — which seldom report anything bad about those countries, since their goal in life is to get us to be more like them. We’re always being lectured on the superiority of Scandinavian countries to the United States, because of their generous welfare programs, single-payer health care, paid parental leave, etc., etc. If the masses knew about all the problems those countries are having, it would sort of destroy the illusion of utopian perfection.

    That’s a good point, BoB; and even less liberal outlets like Fox probably don’t cover Scandinavia much either. So unless they have family over there, most folks are unlikely to know what’s going on, unless they’re like us oddballs and read up about it at various online sources that cover real news.
