Fuck.

(For a much deeper dissection which I completely endorse, see Gerry T. Neal, here.)

Not quite as short: you are so screwed.
I would be checking the NZ and Australian Immigration regulations, Will.

Well, I am committed to Canada, in spite of its governments.

Besides, if ever I thought of leaving, I think I’d like Putin’s Russia. 😉

I know I’ll get flamed for saying this, but after reading Gerry’s take on things, I have to conclude that Canadian politics isn’t really any different than that here in the Lower 48. Even Canadian “conservatism” appears to be identical to ours (this article that appeared a few days ago on LewRockwell.com nails it. While it specifically addresses American conservatism, it’s central point really applies across the Western world: https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/10/gary-north/conservatism-is-a-total-flop/).

Concur 100 percent also on Gerry’s take on suffrage. The Universal Franchise represents ten of mankind’s stupidest, most destructive ideas ever (actually, democracy itself is one of the stupidest, most destructive ideas ever conceived, but that’s fodder for a whole ‘nother rant elsewhere at another time).

I long ago stopped paying any serious attention to election results, nearly all of which can be summed up thus: MOSS (“More of the Same Shit/Stupidity”) which = continued loss of freedoms + government-led economic destruction.

Yup. I can think of several countries currently considered to be tyrannized shit holes that are actually more livable and have a better chance of turnaround and recovery than our beloved North American “bastions of freedumb.”

Hey feeriker, indeed, Canadian politics today is very similar to American politics – neo-cons vs. progs – except that the progs are divided between different parties, with the most hardline ideological ones being in the NDP, and the more moderate, able-to-win-elections ones in the Grits (Liberals).

Other than that, it’s the same story here as in America, or the U.K., Australia, N.Z., or most other Western nations today. The ‘conservatives’ are all cuckservatives.

Putin’s Russia has its flaws, but at least it’s on the right side in the culture war, against cultural Marxism.

The leaders of the NAFTA countries: Justin Trudeau, Barack Obama, and Enrique Pena Nieto. What the hell happened to North America?

I’m afraid I don’t really know anything about the Mexican leader; guess I haven’t paid Mexico much attention. I take it he’s a prog? Ugh.

He’s a Prog too, another clod who got elected for his photogenic qualities. He legalized fag marriage in Mexico City when he was mayor there. Mexico, though, at least has the advantage of having three major parties, so Progs never get more than a plurality and it’s harder to get their agenda through Congress.

The other two parties there are the Conservatives and the Populists. Neither one is especially warm to the Prog agenda.

Thanks for the link Will. On the subject of Canadian conservatives who are not cuckservatives, are you aware of Kevin Steel and Kevin Michael Grace’s new podcast? http://2kevins.com/

@ Eric: Ah. Elected for photogenic qualities, just like the boy wonder Justin! (43 but looks like a kid…)

    @ Gerry: You’re welcome!

Oh! Great news! Thanks for letting me know!

Would direct democracy like Switzerland work?

Well, look at how ‘the people’ chose to legalize ‘gay marriage’ through a referendum in Ireland.

Look at how the E.U. keeps holding referenda in E.U. countries till the people vote the way the Eurocrats like.

I’m not inclined to think ‘the people’ are any better than the elites. Today, both are rotten…

What Gerry says here, I concur with strongly; hence my distrust of ‘direct democracy’.

New Zealand is way more proggy than Canada, no point going there. There’s nowhere to run, really. In any case, I for one am not really worried about the election, since it was going to happen anyway. All right-liberals like Harper ever manage to do is delay things. Democracy will always get you votes for other peoples’ money, yes, but we can add a bit the old adage. Democracy also fails when people vote themselves into sterilisation via increased opportunities for consequence-free orgasm and drug-induced high.

I’m not worried, either; you’ll notice I didn’t use any exclamation marks; just a simple “Fuck.” 🙂
