The campus arm of J Street, the liberal group that describes itself as “pro-Israel, pro-peace,” and that positions itself as a leftist Zionist alternative to the more conservative AIPAC, has “decisively” elected a new president, Amna Farooqi. She’s a 21-year-old Pakistani-American, and a Muslim. When Farooqi addressed J Street’s national convention in Washington last spring, Farooqi described herself not only as a Muslim, but also as “culturally Jewish.”

Her claim to being “culturally Jewish” has predictably made some headlines, though what exactly she means by the phrase remains hazy. “Cultural Jewishness” is a commonly recognized category, describing many secularized Jews who identify with the religion’s community while rejecting its theological foundations. Speaking at a J Street convention in Washington last spring, Farooqi suggested rather light-heartedly that because she grew up in the D.C. suburb of Potomac, Maryland, with its large Jewish population, she could…

This seems downsteam of the philosophy of relativism a disease of modernity that allows people to define reality as they see fit. Which in the end tries to do away with the absolute truth which is futile.

Satan cannot but be used by God for his own purposes no matter how bad his schemes may be.

    Well said, infowarrior1. I agree.

In the meantime, though, the relativists who ask, like Pilate, “What is truth?”, can do much damage, though, alas… Esp. when others are thereby convinced.

Well, I grew up reading Allan Bloom and watching Woody Allen movies, so I should make an effort to cash in . . . .

Seriously: I guess this falls under the header of Jews who drink too much of their own Kool-Aid. I’m not exactly exultant in this kind of foolishness, but there IS some “Karma” in this [NB: I think it’s worth noting, btw, that “karma” is almost exclusively invoked by people who believe that Two Wrongs Make A Right but don’t want to admit that.]

Pakistan is perhaps the most glaring instance of Cultural Imperialism amok in world history. The Indus River Valley, the cradle of Vedanta civilization, is a zone ripped from India and colonized (genetically too, unless I’m mistaken, and thus doubtless irrevocably) by Islamic civilization.

And the result is– no offense to West Virginians, because I seriously contemplate moving there someday– but Pakistan is the West Virginia of the planet. They just barely hold it together enough to have the Bomb (unless Sailer is right that this is a CIA bluff to stabilize the region; but frankly, Steve fatigues me with too-many clever-by-half memes he tries to float on hot air); but they are distinctive only by a patina of mediocrity lording it over a horde of violent uselessness. Pakistan is a parody of modern India, if that can be believed.

That the poor British have to live in a world where the contemptuous abbreviation “Paki” is considered as vile, even criminal, as da N-word, is truly dystopian. What have millions of them wrought for England?– a few piddling doctors and dentists, and untold hordes of rapists and criminals. Europe’s salvation won’t be complete until all the Pakistanis, present for however many generations, are expunged from the citizenry.
