After destroying religion and marriage, Europe tries to convince people to make babies

This is from the radically leftist New York Times, of all places.

They write:

Recently, Sex and Society, a nonprofit group that provides much of Denmark’s sex education, adjusted its curriculum. The group no longer has a sole emphasis on how to prevent getting pregnant but now also talks about pregnancy in a more positive light.

It is all part of a not-so-subtle push in Europe to encourage people to have more babies. Denmark, like a number of European countries, is growing increasingly anxious about low birthrates. Those concerns have only been intensified by the region’s financial and economic crisis, with high unemployment rates among the young viewed as discouraging potential parents.

The Italian health minister described Italy as a “dying country” in February. Germany has spent heavily on family subsidies but has little to show for it. Greece’s depression…

They will fail. There is absolutely no incentive to have children for the Modern man and woman. Society purged of the patriarchal imperatives and religious axis is doomed to demographic withering.

Marriage and Religion are a part of the population decline but young people in Europe are in general pretty poorly off, many upwards of 50% don’t have enough resources to even start a family. A big part of getting fertility up is making sure that every 22-25 year old man has steady, decent paying work.

Even with the high youth underemployment and poor wage jobs, fertility rates suggest to me a strong desire for above replacement fertility among White European people.

However to get there non Western immigration has to stop and wage arbitrage must stop. Yes
European people cost more than Africans and Middle Eastern Muslims but if you want them, you must pay for them.

Also stability even at the cost of growth must happen. People are starting to act with their own economic interests in mind as they should in our system and the choices the elite make means smaller families. Once a person becomes a father he can’t subject his family to cyclical unemployment to some multinational can pinch a few pennies on the stock price, He needs steady work for 20+ years with minimal non self inflicted interruptions

if you don’t do that all the moral hand wringing in the world and longing for the past will not help

The long and of it “Mo’ Money. Mo’ Homogeneity Mo’ kids” and if the social and economic models we have can’t support it, kiss modernity good by and enjoy Sharia Law and barbarism. Its no more complicated than that.

    Too little, too late…

After over forty years of bashing men and elevating women for no other reason that they have vaginas, of destroying marriage and making divorce profitable for women, and of making Sweden as the ideal society, there is not any reason for any sane man to marry or father children.
If the political leadership of Europe want to have more native-born children, they will have to make marriage and fatherhood attractive to men, so that means dialing back on the feminism and getting out of policing relationships and marriage (at the very least).
However, the feminists will fight them ‘tooth and nail’ on every change needed, and I extremely doubt that any politician has the strength and iron will required to do it.

TTRP, please, men in Europe are in no way bashed to a degree they are in North America, and divorce is hardly profitable, either, unless your husband is very wealthy, but they usually all marry with a contract. There are a lot of countries in Europe, not only Sweden and UK. I’m so tired of Americans telling the whole world how to live, why should they be bothered with our birth rates? Don’t they have enough of their own problems?

I think that a lot of Western Europe is fed up with Anglo-American Cultural Imperialism. It’s my feeling that the tide will turn in Europe soon.

Eric, the funny thing is that when I read the newspapers, people aren’t bothered with feminism at all. What they are talking about is “religion of peace” and how they are all sick of foreigners:) My problem with the articles like the one above is that they nearly always use falling birth rates as the reason to suggest more immigration. Now that is what many people are really fed up with.

    Sanne:
The falling birthrate is a problem in Europe (and N. America) because the populations aren’t reproducing even at sustainability levels. As far as I know, Russia has been the only country to hit the problem head-on: Putin has introduced a series of initiatives to re-build intact family units and encourage stay-at-home mothers who raise larger families. Putin’s measures have actually shown some success; and he hasn’t the mass-immigration policies of the West.

It is enough to make people realize what they do when they have an abortion. The Left HATES pictures.

    Indeed, they do.
