    Note that it was the local Educational Establishment who instigated these protests. Their objection is against proposed new history standards that teach that American History actually had some positive aspects.

    Well, I’m always saying people should church school / private school / homeschool their kids (not only here, but also at my Culture War and Anarcho-Tyranny blogs), and while this is indeed a new low for the progs, the conservatives should have anticipated some blowback, even if not to this level. I’d feel sorry for them, if I didn’t already think public education is beyond help today, and that conservatives should become a little more radical, and reject it, in favour of the alternatives.
