Things That Turn Republicans Into Democrats

23 Jul

Hear, hear! The attitudes of some businesses really stink; it’s especially galling when they try to pass the buck, and blame government (and/or other businesses), rather than taking responsibility for themselves…

Good luck, Erik, in your petition to city council.

Of course, in addition to that, you can use social media as well as your blog to publicize this, and get others on board; also, to let the bank president know that if he won’t fix it, perhaps you may wish to conduct your banking elsewhere that’s more amenable, instead. (One that listens to and cares about its customers, even if of course that won’t have direct impact on this particular problem, and even if it’s less convenient to do so.) And if others concur, market pressures may force his hand.

Indeed, the party of Abraham Lincoln, after all, the biggest expander and consolidator of federal government power ever till FDR and LBJ…

“Yeah, Erik. I’m returning your phone call. I’ve checked the City ordinances and there is no restriction on when trash can be picked up. My hands are tied. I can’t tell another private business owner how to run his business.”

    Translation from Bullshitspeak:

“We are a bank, a respectable white collar business that is part of the Federal Reserve-run Counterfeiting-Financial Bubble Complex, run by people with advanced degrees from prestigious business schools of prominent, top-tier universities. We cater to people who have lots of money they want to invest in us, which does NOT include plebeans like you and your shitty little crackerbox house that not onlygenerates no profits for anyone, but that along with its neighbors is an embarrassing eyesore to us. Do you seriously think we would allow our important clients (which most certainly does NOT include you and your fellow peasants) to be offended by the sight and sound our garbage being collected during normal business hours? Only a benighted serf like yourself would have the unmitigated gall to ask, let alone expect such a demeaning inconvenience of us.

“Keep stepping out of your place and we’ll start next week having garbage collected at between 2 and 3 AM, three days per week.

“Now bugger off, you annoying little peon!”
