Men do not think about sex every seven seconds, as per the stereotype

23 Jun

We know this, but a lot of women today (and some men) buy into that supposed statistic.

It’s not true.

And even progs like the Atlantic Magazine now admit it.

The bit of research on such doesn’t even show that, and it’s all likely highly flawed, anyway, what with the observation no doubt influencing what is observed; i.e. you tell people you want them to make a note of how often they think of something, they’re liable to think about it more than they otherwise would.

So the ‘science’ itself is unreliable.

Throw that in the face of the next woman or male feminist who tosses that false stereotype out there.

The most revealing part of that article is the end, about Carmen Electra. She goes from, “sex, sex, sex,” to, “only joking, right honey?” Sounds like she has wedding cake induced libido dysfunction.

OT, but here’s an interesting article that came up on the British MRA blog ‘The Antifeminist’. Scarecrow re-blogged it on ‘Men-Factor’.

Talk about the leaders of the Pro-Feminist ‘Culture Wars’:

Check it out—you can see what kind of characters are really the ‘Cultural Elite’ lol

For those prone to whining about men thinking of sex, there are solutions. Target the advertising industry and check your clothes (titty shirts, tight clothes, thongs, etc) out of sight out of mind. If you don’t wish to check these things then zip it.

Of course, it isn’t that women don’t want male attention; they just only want it from some men and don’t want it from others…

Almost all of that article is disgusting, except “suggested that child rape victims be encouraged to marry their abusers (who would be spared jail)” I’m not entirely against this. Sort of a “you break it you buy it” ala Leviticus. Though if the girl is too young, I would recommend some indentured servitude to the family until she is of age to get him on the right track to becoming a good husband and to pay them back for his injustice. It’s funny how far out lefties end up accidentally getting close to the truth.

“Of course, it isn’t that women don’t want male attention; they just only want it from some men and don’t want it from other”

Bingo, most of 3rd wave feminism in a nutshell. “Men to should never do X (unless I’m attracted to them).”

I’m in agreement with you; but here are two points:

    1. Your first point is really an Age-of-Consent issue. Antifeminist (and myself) agree that it should be lowered.

    2. Futrelle, however, no longer holds (or pretends not to hold) that position on marriage of abuse victims. He’s a firm believer now in rigid enforcement of ‘stauatory rape’ laws (at least in heterosexual relationships). However, he still hypocritically defends the ‘120 Days of Sodom’ film as an ‘artistic work’ while he’d gleefully have you thrown jail for even suggesting that ‘underage’ girls should be allowed to marry.

Eric, I actually wasn’t thinking modern age of consent laws, I agree those should be lowered (at least within the confines of marriage). When the article says “child rape victims,” it made me think of 8 year olds -not teens. When I say “of age” I’m thinking sexually mature, and with a low end of 14. Anyways, it figures he would change his mind. If a fool stumbles near the truth, don’t expect him to find it.

From what I’ve seen of Futrelle’s earlier writings, I think he might actually have meant prepubescents. He didn’t seem to draw any AOC parameters back then. Now of course, like most feminists he considers ‘all sex is rape’—apparently though excluding the homosexual variety. LOL

As a side note, historically the AOC was 12 for girls and varied for boys. The earliest mention I ever found of a codified AOC law came from the Roman Republic; but I’ve never found a reference to how or why it was instituted. Apparently among the other ancient peoples like Greeks and Hebrews, it about the same age but enforced differently since marriage among them was a religious and not a civil/legal matter like it was in Rome.

Ha! of course only natural sexuality is rape. Artisanal Toad did a neat script for a traditional family with a submissive housewife justifying themselves to a charge of abuse in courts by playing it as a 24/7 dom/sub fetish.

And that’s interesting about the AoC. I was afraid I was being too “radical.”
