    I have been trying to leave a comment but something apparently went wrong, so I’m trying once again: thanks for the links, Will!

    What are you commemorating, the Reformation? I concur, but of course not all of us here will.

    Anyway, it’s a great hymn; love it.

    Given that you have chosen to repeatedly stick your neck out and post appreciation of Eastern Orthodox stuff, would you mind elaborating on what you like about it? (I am not trying to provoke an RC vs EO bunfight by this question.)

    @ Chris: You’re welcome!

    @ Caelan McKenzie: Well, I’ve also posted appreciation of Roman Catholic stuff, too; in both cases, I appreciate their artistic traditions, music, church architecture; one thing I do appreciate about Eastern Orthodoxy, where I think they have been stronger than both Protestantism and Roman Catholicism, is in terms of how socially conservative countries with a majority E.O. population have remained, in comparison to most Protestant and Roman Catholic countries (though some neighbouring Roman Catholic countries in eastern Europe have been similar in that regard).

    @Will S.

    Just a manly song to lighten up your day. Came across it when reading about the feminization of the church.

    It is, of course, the grandfather of all Protestant hymns. 🙂
