Am I the only one who is tired of hearing about that dead girl?

17 Oct

You know, the one who was stupid enough to share a topless pic of herself when she was twelve (!) with some asshole who then used said pics to intimidate her, blackmail her, etc.  And then she offed herself.

Don’t get me wrong; the guy was a nasty piece of work, and blackmail and extortion should be punished.  Not sure that I think calling it ‘cyber-bullying’ clarifies anything; if anything, it places other forms of ‘cyber-bullying’, like teens in school saying nasty things about each other online or whatever, on the same level as this blackmail and intimidation.

And where were her parents?  Everyone’s wringing their hands about the girl – but where were the people most responsible for her well-being, in all of this?  Why didn’t she get help and the love she needed from them?

Let’s all remember, BTW, that all this happened because she was stupid enough to show the guy her boobs.  If she hadn’t done that, none of the subsequent blackmail and intimidation would have been possible.  But I note that no-one is bringing that up, are they…

BTW, back to the ‘bullying’ she said she was a victim of: some of what she suffered at the hands of others was well-deserved, and not really ‘bullying’ IMO; for instance, from the linked piece above:

After moving to a different city and school,  another instance of bullying  occurred after she started a romantic relationship  with an older man who had a girlfriend.

Once that relationship soured, she was  confronted and beaten up by the man’s girlfriend. She was hit in front of a  crowd of screaming people who encouraged her to be left in a ditch.

Ah, that’s not ‘bullying’; that’s just suffering your just deserts for getting involved with someone who already had someone, and it’s no wonder that other female was angry and even got violent; don’t blame her, one bit.  But I hardly think that constitutes ‘bullying’.  Someone sensibly commented about that term ‘bullying’ being bandied about so freely these days:

The term “bully” need to be redefined.  What this man did was not bullying – it  was harassment, stalking any one of several criminal acts.  What her peers at  school did was not bullying – it was assault.  The word bully seems to apply to  anyone from a mild insult (like four-eyes for someone wearing glasses) to full  blown assault occasioning grievous body harm.

Just so; it is too freely used in both directions; it’s too fuzzy and nebulous; too much of a catch-all phrase – like ‘sexual assault’ and ‘sexual harassment’, for that matter; terms that today are similarly nebulous and ill-defined…

Anyway, shame about this girl who at twelve was stupid enough to show her boobs to some much older guy, and ended up harassed and intimidated as a result that she felt the only way out of her pain was to off herself.  She should never have shown him her boobs; everything else that ensued would never have occurred at all.

THAT’S the lesson which society should take away from all this, as well as that parents should be more aware of what their kids are doing online, and should be there for their children, so they don’t feel alone in whatever struggles they’re going through.

That’s all.

Now shut up, grandstanding media and politicians, the world over, about it.

Parents, keep your girls off of social media, chat rooms, and teach them not to take nekkid self-shots and share them.

And not to steal another girl’s boyfriend.  And to reach out to you for help, if someone is harassing them.

Problem solved.

People at Stormfront get frothing mad when you point out even twelve-year olds have some moral agency and responsibility.

Yeah, well, white nationalists tend to be white-knight nationalists… White women are pure innocent victims who can do no wrong, and who as the future white mothers of white children, with their sacred white wombs, are to be pedestalized and always deferred to. White man up and marry them white sluts, white men!

The death was a tragedy, but unfortunately, it will be used to justify further restrictions and punishments for the silliest of petty acts.

A sad case. Some of the stories I’ve read mention her mother. But, where is/was her daddy? She was showing her budding boobs to an older man, and going out with an older man who had a girlfriend. It seems pretty obvious she had some daddy issues. She also had drug and alcohol issues.

What happened to her daddy? Was he kicked out via frivolous divorce? Was he an alpha asshole who gave mom the tingles? In which case where was her mom’s daddy?

Even having an involved and loving daddy is sometimes not enough to protect an adolescent. The school system has an isolated tribal peer grouping with an undeveloped social responsibility. A troubled teen is left to swim with the piranhas in a lord of the flies milieu. The response of the powers that be was to drug her with anti-depressants.

    A sad case.

I wouldn’t say being beaten up by someone’s gf is just desserts exactly – they weren’t married or engaged, so tough shit if some hussy moves into ‘your’ turf. Now if he’d been married, that would be another story, but they’re all fornicators and none better than the other.

But yeah, if that was happening to my kid, I’d have taken her out of school and shut down the ‘social’ media altogether. Surely someone could have told her that it’s not the end of the world to have a picture of your 12 year-old boobs floating around. If others want to be assholes about it, that’s their stupidity.

When I got bullied relentlessly at school, I left and stayed home for most of that year (would have been grade 9). Why keep sending a kid into the lion’s den like that? School isn’t necessary at all.

I hate when people tell me to be sympathetic for idiots who brought their problems upon themselves. It is like those women who are raped that wore a skirt barely covering their ass and got drunk at a party. Of course the actions of the raper were wrong but just because she was the ‘victim’ does not mean we cannot hold her responsible for what she had done wrong.

Oh and Will there seems to be another person in our part of the blogosphere.

@ CL: Well, what I mean is, you play with fire, you’re liable to get burned; mess around with another woman’s man, don’t be surprised if that woman gets mad at you and decks you; you kinda had it coming, notwithstanding the fornication all around…

Homeschooling, and staying off social media, would prevent a lot of these kinds of tragedies…

@ CP: I am inclined to agree, though I am mindful of RICanuck’s pointing out there were obviously problems with her family life, too, but I don’t see the need for a media circus, nor am I convinced that this is a huge social problem (‘cyber-bullying’, I mean).

And yeah, she did bring it upon herself, by foolishly sharing that which she should have kept private.

Thanks for the heads up; I’ll take a look.

The girl was only 12 when she sent those topless pictures, and it’s a common knowledge that children of this age can do all sorts of stupid things. It’s not for nothing that they are legally called minors, so I wonder where her parents were. Father probably absent, mother working full time, it happens again and again. Children need adult supervision, and a mother at home, and not only when they are still in diapers, but especially as they grow older because we all know that teenagers are inclined to experiment with things like drugs, alcohol and sex.

English lesson: “Just deserts”, not “just desserts.” A dessert is a sweet you eat after a meal. A desert is 1) a really dry place (such as Antarctica–it is!) or 2) a reward or punishment that is deserved. Desert is also a verb, to abandon. The “dry place” desert is the only one pronounced the way it is, all the others are pronounced like dessert.

I think this is quite a bit harsh. I don’t ascribe maturity to most women, much less 12 year old kids who don’t know better. I have my take and it’s too lengthly to regurgitate in a comment box. You can check out my views here and in the comment section.

Yes she was stupid. Yes she let her teenage hypergamy walk her off a cliff. And yes she was so naive as to flash a stranger on the internet because he said all the right alpha triggers to feed her not-teenage hamster. But that blackmailing adult posing as a teen asshole was the catalyst, and she’d still be alive if he didn’t start the ball rolling in destroying her life for one simple mistake.

As a former victim of bullying myself, i have a vested interest in seeing bullies put in their place and if this case facilitates the start of something, then i will be watching intently. Perhaps this will start teaching society to raise their girls properly instead of letting them run their feral hamsters into the fire. Her parents totally dropped the ball.

@ M3: Fair enough; though I did say how I found the guy responsible for his actions. I myself was a victim of bullying growing up. But I don’t know that cyber-bullying is the same thing; when you get actually physically picked on, that’s different, I think. But that’s just me.

My issue is more with the international media reaction. This should just be a local story, IMO.

I got bullied pretty relentlessly throughout primary and secondary school; around grade 10 there started up a “Peer support group”, the early anti-bullying, and funny thing… a bunch of the people who’d picked up me joined it.

I get the sense that the loudest anti-bullying advocates were, themselves, bullies in their earlier years. And given their left-wing tendencies, they’re probably still bullies to any who aren’t ideologically pure.

Anything that prevents you from doing what you want is a tragedy and a cardinal sin – and it is always someone else’s fault. Trying to “settle down” after twenty years of one-night stands? Those men are just immature boys. Killing your own baby either manually or by neglect? Your husband wasn’t giving enough attention, he was probably cheating on you anyways. Overdose on drugs and doing dangerous things? It’s because society is corrupted and oppresses you.

So obviously, when you decide to flash your tits and steal someone’s boyfriend, it’s their fault. You were brave to go where no women has gone before. You should’ve gotten what you wanted. But you didn’t, and that’s all because they fucked up.

    Well, I guess it’s not someone else’s fault if you’re a man. You’re a man, after all.

You’re responsible for everything that happens to you.
