They’re here, they’re queer, they can’t hear…

11 Oct

I just learned about ‘Deaf Queers’.  Sometimes one word (‘DeafQueer’), sometimes two (‘Deaf Queer’); they are people who are both homosexuals and deaf, and feel the need to come together as their own separate group, rather than be part of the respective deaf and gay ‘communities’…

But wait; isn’t that too inclusive?  (Remember, it’s only us who are to be criticized for lack of ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusiveness’, while it’s okay for them to divide themselves up into ever smaller niche groups.)

Fortunately, there’s DQMO – Deaf Queer Men Only, and Deaf Queer Women Against Violence (to be distinguished, presumably, from Deaf Queer Women In Favour Of Violence).

But what about Deaf Queer Blacks?  Or Deaf Queer Latinos In Wheelchairs?  Or Deaf Queer Muslims?

Aren’t there groups for them?

This is an outrage, and must be corrected immediately!

There is another DeafQueer subgroup called ‘International Deaf Leather’; being DeafQueer leather fetishists, probably into ‘gay rodeos’ and stuff, but all in sign-language… They even have their own flag:

Reminds me of that old joke:

    Q. What’s the difference between a gay rodeo and a straight rodeo?
    A. At a straight rodeo, they yell, “Ride that sucker!” 😉

A deaf gay rodeo would surely be boring, though, what with only signing; no-one cheering loudly…

Q: What do you call a wheelchair-bound gay man with an STD?

    A: Rollaids.

Excellent! I did not know that particular joke. Will try it out on a gay friend who calls me homophobic and yet LOVES a gay joke, as he knows no one un-PC enough to tell them to him.

Funny friend you got there, EA. He should like it, though. 🙂

He’s an interesting gay man: converted from his birth religion to his wife’s, fathered two children, and discovered he was FAB-u-lous after she died.

I cannot wait for the SDBGA (Short Deaf Black Gay Alliance) to come out and denounce the FBMGA (Fat Biker-Moustache Gay Alliance) as not being sufficiently gay and disenfranchised.

    @ EA: Weird, that.

    @ CP: Ha! 🙂
