Man fakes plane crash to make surprise proposal

29 Sep

As this story notes:

First we had the Russian millionaire who faked his own death before proposing, smeared in blood, to a traumatized girlfriend. (Bewildering, but she said yes.)

I do remember that; it was certainly reported and commented on in the manosphere.

This week, an American man has posted his own death-defying proposal on YouTube. Piloting a small plane with his girlfriend Carlie sitting in the passenger seat, Ryan Thompson decided to pretend the aircraft was malfunctioning and about to plummet to earth before popping the question.

Well, it worked.  I suppose some will say you can’t argue with success…

    What’s the point in him going through all these gymnastics because after getting married she will get bored with him, divorce him and rob him for all he has move onto the next gyna tingles…what a waste. In a sense have women to be gamed so much that she has to feel the tingles to say yes?

    I had an evil thought; imagine if the plane did malfunction just after the proposal… 😉

    @Will S:
    Is this proposal sign of desperation from the guy for her to say ‘yes'(since his plan was so outrageous) or is it out of genuine love? This seems to me like a sick joke, even though it was no joke regarding his intentions!!!

    I can’t decide if it’s more disturbing that he decided this would be a good way to propose or that she actually said yes after he did it.

    I honestly have no idea, jg, what his primary intention was; whether to have fun at her expense (since she thought they were about to die), or whether for her to imagine her life was ending and how much she couldn’t bear to lose him, etc. Either way, it’s stupid and pathetic, IMO.
