Thanks for linking my post “Copypussies”, especially as I have been posting mostly fluff of late.

    You’re welcome David.

Hey, nothing wrong with posting fluff! If you do a hot Aussie TV actresses post, I’ll probably link that, too. 😉

So, posting “bits of fluff” will get me linked?!

    How about cats?

I thought of a good title for my Pussy Riot post, but not in time: “No Pussy Pass for Pussy Riot”.

Hey, you’ll see amongst my many links, both in this linkfest and previous ones, some that definitely count as ‘fluff’! 🙂

No, I don’t particularly like cats; I only like YouTube clips where cats are freaking out trying to get out of bathtubs:

Or ones where they make horrible unnatural sounds because they’re way distressed, and sound like the demonically-possessed creatures they are:

The remixes of that last one are particularly funny:

There are more, I can show you, if you’d like. 😉

“No Pussy Pass for Pussy Riot” would indeed have been a good title.

I am having trouble with Aussie TV actresses. I could post a couple under the title, “Can you believe the molls Aussie men fancy?!”

I have just thought of one sweet looking girl. My tastes are a bit girl-next-door.

I shall view your anti-feline videos. With mild disapproval.

This is Rebecca Gibney. She is a type of woman that Aussies find attractive.

We tend to like girl-next-door types. When I went to stay in a college in Armidale, country New South Wales, to begin my PhD, the girl who got the best rating (an 8, the blokes rated her) was a sturdy young miss who carried one of my suitcases up the stairs when I arrived, tired out. Australian men seem to like women who are practical!

@Will S. Thanks for linkage and links to follow up.
@David… I assume you do not think much of Cate Blanchett. I think she has huge acting chops — but she is much more of a dramatic actress than a romantic lead.
Nicole Kidman in her earlier days. And the Asian Chick in the David Bowie clip China Girl was, as far as I can tell, an Aussie.

If the topic is sheilas DC likes in videos, the brunette on the beach here is delightful. I have no idea who she is. In her one-piece cossie, she brings back memories of my wife and I honeymooning at Surfers Paradise in Queensland:

But Will wants me to find him Aussie cuties from local TV.

Thanks, Chris, for the music video of Bowie. I had seen a different version.

  12. Chris

    August 30, 2012 at 3:57 am

I am sure David C knows this one… nothing to do with Aussie sheilas. From the stone age of Rock (1976) and Melbourne…

David, I think the girl in the Bowie was Geeling Ng: Reminds me of what my wife looked like many years ago.

More generally, if you look at the audience of the AC/DC video, most people were at reasonable weight. I was shot live, as the truck rolled down the street, so those people are not hired extras.

@ DC: Ooh, that Gibney chick is cute, indeed. I like ‘girls next door’ types, too. 🙂

@ Chris: Hey, you’re welcome. How about cute Kiwi girls? 😉

  15. David Collard

    August 30, 2012 at 4:06 am

Yeah, that is an incredibly energetic, indeed thrilling, video. So Australian in its improvisation and spontaneity. AC/DC are great fun.

You and me, Chris. Typical men. We both post videos of women of our “type”.

Chris, did you see the old-style helmet on the cop?

There is a story that one band member said to another, “It’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll” and that mutated into the song.

The Youngs were of recent Scots immigrant origin. Hence the bagpipes. They do a tribute to Glasgow Rangers in one video too.

  17. Chris

    August 30, 2012 at 4:40 am

@Will. You want kiwis? Well, given my musical tastes, that means no Ani diFranco (Yank) or Sarah McLaughlan (Canadian) or Tori Amos (Tranplanted to Cornwall).

So Kiwis. Not my type, and yes, she became a supermodel

But Bic Runga (and her sister Boh) can sing… Lord can they sing. FWIW, Maori/Chinese

And this one NZ lost. She went to Sydney, joined Hillsong, and married an Aussie. Brooke Fraser.

That girl that fronts the band that sings Stormy Weather is cute, Chris.

I mean Heavy Weather by Fly My Pretties.

I once heard a cat make a very disapproving noise like that. I think it signifies extreme disapproval. The cat that I knew that did it had just been introduced to a new cat in the household, and was very unhappy. It is a kind of whining.

  21. Will S.

    August 30, 2012 at 9:47 am

@ Chris: Oh yes, Rachel Hunter, I forgot about her; I do like her.

The two Asian Kiwis there are certainly cute.

  22. Will S.

    August 30, 2012 at 9:55 am

@ DC: Yes, and it seems that two related breeds, Siberian cats and Maine Coons, are particularly known for that, and indeed, in the case of the NONONONO cat, it was some visitor who came who the cat for some reason took a dislike to / fear of.

I find it hilarious (as does Google). “NONONONONO AAAAAAH!” 🙂

  23. Will S.

    August 30, 2012 at 10:02 am

    More cats in distress:

“CAT, n. A soft, indestructible automaton provided by nature to be kicked when things go wrong in the domestic circle.” – Ambrose Bierce, “The Devil’s Dictionary”.

    August 30, 2012 at 10:19 am

@ DC: So, I looked around the website that hosts that Rebecca Gibney photo you linked:

Ignoring the animal rights ideology, several of the women there are cute, girl-next-door types like Rebecca, and three of them also Aussie TV presenters, you can include them in your upcoming post:

Even the animal behaviourist chick is cute:

As for the animal rights ideology, and to tie in with your cat-love:

    Too many stringy blondes.

I”ll see if I can find some cute brunettes.

    Hey DW, you’re welcome. Cheers.

  30. Will S.

    August 31, 2012 at 4:10 am

@ DC: Brunettes, good; black-haired, also good, redheads also good. Even abos or half-abos who are pretty, would be good; not the ugly abos though, obviously. 🙂

I shall never forget, at my fairly liberal Catholic boys school in the early 1970s, a book arrived in the library of photography of pretty women. Not quite sure why. There was one Aboriginal girl portrayed. She was naked, hugging a tree.

    Good days …

Was she an attractive abo? 🙂
