Vancouver pioneered (in Canada, at least) free needles for junkies, over two decades ago.
Now, they’ve started free booze for alkies. (Apparently, though, it has already been done here in Ontario for 15 years; news to me!)
One wonders which next group of addicts will get the taxpayers bankrolling their addictions…

Free booze for alkies is not exactly the same thing as free needles for junkies. In truth it is much worse. The needle is only the delivery device, they weren’t filling the syringes with heroin. To be equivalent they should be passing out (pun intended) free shot or wine glasses or beer steins.I guess some addicts are more equal than others.
